Happy Eggs

Start your kid's day with some happy eggs.

This one is fun because you can present it as happy then turn it sad after you put it in front of them. After all, it's sad because it's about to be eaten.

Happy Eggs Recipe

Prep time: 5 minutes (mostly waiting for the skillet to warm up)
Cook time: About 5 minutes
Number of Servings: As many as you want to make

Ingredients
  • 2 eggs (per kid)
  • Butter (about a teaspoon worth)
  • 1 strawberry (per kid)
  • 6 blueberries (per kid)
How to cook
  1. Place skillet on stove and set to medium.
  2. After skillet is warm (about 4 minutes - test by dripping water on the pan... if the water beads and bounces around it's ready) add butter to pan and spread around
  3. Crack eggs and add to pan, being careful not to break the yolk.
  4. Once whites are no longer liquid and yolk looks firm remove from pan.
  5. Arrange eggs, strawberry and blueberries on plate to smile as shown in picture above.
  6. Optionally, after serving and before being eaten, you can cut one on of the yolks near the bottom and spread the yolk down on the plate, and arrange the blueberries to frown as show in picture below.
