Happy Grilled Cheese Recipe
Prep time: 5 minutes (most of that is waiting for the skillet to heat up)
Cook time: About 7 minutes
Number of Servings: 1 per sandwich
Ingredients
- Bread (whatever kind you have)
- Cheese (whatever kind you have and as much as you like)
- Butter or margarine
- Pickle slice
- Strawberry (or anything eatable that can look like a nose)
How to cook
- Put skillet on stove and set to medium-low. (You could put it on medium to cook faster, but you risk burning the bread and the cheese not melting enough).
- While it is warming up, butter two slices of bread
- After skillet is hot (about 4 minutes) place one slice of bread in skillet (in case that isn't obvious - butter-side down!)
- Add cheese
- Top with other buttered slice of bread (again in case it isn't obvious - this one should be butter-side UP!)
- After 2 or 3 minutes, check bottom of bread to see if it looks golden brown. If it doesn't go another minute and check again. When golden brown, proceed to next step.
- After bread looks golden brown, flip sandwich over.

- Remove from skillet (don't forget to turn off after you've cooked your last sandwich!)
- Place on plate and cut in half on a diagonal
- Arrange on plate with a strawberry (with it's top cut off so it won't roll around) and a pickle as shown in picture.
- (Optional) turn pickle upside-down and bring sandwich halves closer together to make sad
